DISCIPLINE
The purpose of discipline is to help children learn ways of behaving that are acceptable to themselves and to others. With very young children, this usually means setting limits for their safety, the safety of others and the safety of property. Young children need to be reassured that the people who care for them will guide and protect them. Classroom ground rules emphasize that the child will not hurt himself, any other person, or any property. Corporal punishment is absolutely prohibited.
